I’m about kindness, adventure, and fresh pressed green juice.
Hi there, I’m Megan, owner and lead designer at the Meraki Project. This entire platform was built around the idea of compassion. I want to show people that you can create something beautiful without causing harm in the process. I believe as humans, it’s our job to put in a little more effort to make sure we all thrive, even the animals. By doing this, we can make our world just as beautiful as our planet.
Creating sustainable, responsible design for like-minded entrepreneurs and non-profits is my personal love letter to society.
When I’m not designing, I’m most likely watching old episodes of The Golden Girls (aka my long lost sisters) or strolling through the aisles of Target. That place is a designer’s paradise! I’m an 80’s child with the soul of a hippie, which means I can belt out anything from The Doors or rap right along with Biggie and Tupac — all while driving to Whole Foods for more avocados.
My family and I are always on an adventure. Sometimes, it’s just a short drive to Waco to check out Magnolia Market or it’s a volunteer trip to Mexico, Nepal or Ecuador. If there’s an opportunity to hug a tree, you better believe I’m going to take it which is why my next adventure is to visit Yellowstone ... and the other 61 U.S. National Parks!
My work and my passions are completely intertwined, and the Meraki Project lets me share both. Thank you for visiting and I hope we can create something wonderful together
The Meraki Project and Social Responsibility
While I never want to be preachy about my values, I do want to hold myself accountable. As the Meraki Project grows, I pledge to work with clients who strive to achieve greater sustainability by reducing waste, practicing mindful energy consumption and sourcing greener materials like recycled papers and soy ink.
Throughout the design process, we’ll talk about options that can guarantee an amazing end result while still respecting your budget. This platform (specifically my blog) is also a place for me to talk about issues I care deeply about. You’ll be able to learn more about my process, recent projects, and sustainable design trends. I’ll also be sharing some fun updates from my family’s travels and adventures!
I hope you’ll join along so we can learn and grow together.
